How Elo ranking works in GLYPH Arena
Each GLYPH Arena title has its own Elo ladder, K-factor, and upset multiplier. Here is how matchmaking and rating updates work.
GLYPH Arena uses Elo, the same family of ratings that moved from chess into plenty of competitive games. New accounts start at 1200. Each ranked title is a separate ladder so a NOVA main does not inflate GLYPH.
Expected score
If your rating is R and theirs is S, the model expects you to score 1 / (1 + 10^((S − R) / 400)). Win and you move up by K times (1 − expected). Lose and you move down by K times expected. K is 32 on GLYPH and 20 on the arcade titles — arcade sets are shorter, so they step lighter.
Upsets
A lower-rated win is multiplied (the ladder wants to notice a shark). A favorite win is slightly shrunk so farming the floor is slow. That is intentional. It is also why a 2000 does not gain much for beating a 1200.

You can queue as a guest. Guest ids do not sit on the public leaderboard. Sign in if you want the number to mean something tomorrow. More: ranking wiki. Play: the arena.
